About & specialties

Hello, I'm Gabrielle

I'm a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and Canadian Certified Counsellor. I offer gentle yet direct therapy by secure video.

[PLACEHOLDER: draft bio. Replace all of it with your own words.]

[PLACEHOLDER: why you do this work, in a sentence or two.] So many people carry things quietly for a long time before they reach out. If that's you, I'm glad you're here.

My approach is gentle yet direct. I'll meet you with warmth and without judgement. I'll also be honest with you about what I notice and what might help.

I draw on approaches like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I shape them around you, rather than the other way around.

In our sessions, you set the pace. Some days we might talk through what's weighing on you. Other days we might practise a skill you can take into your week. The goal is for you to feel safe in your emotional self, and to leave with something that feels useful.

I work with individuals, couples and teens aged 16 to 40, by secure video across Ontario and Manitoba.

If you're wondering whether we'd be a good fit, a free 15-minute consultation is an easy first step.

What I can help with

These are some of the areas I often work on with clients. If you don't see what you're facing here, you're welcome to ask.

  • Anxiety

Anxiety can feel like it's running the show, with racing thoughts, tension or worry that won't settle. Together, we'll get to know what sets it off and what keeps it going. We'll explore practical ways to calm your body and mind, which can help you find steadier ground.
  • Depression

Depression can make everything feel heavy, flat or far away, even the things you used to enjoy. You don't have to push through it alone. At a pace that feels right, we'll look at what's weighing on you and build small, realistic steps toward feeling more like yourself.
  • Burnout

Burnout can make even small things feel heavy, and rest may not seem to help anymore. Together, we'll look at what's draining you, what you need and where your limits are. I'll support you in making changes that may help you recover and protect your energy.
  • Stress

Stress can build quietly until it shows up in your sleep, your body or your relationships. We'll slow things down and look at what's on your plate and how you're carrying it. Together, we'll look for practical tools that can make day-to-day pressure feel more manageable.
  • Relationships

Relationships can bring comfort, and they can also bring hurt, conflict or distance. Whether you come on your own or with a partner, we'll look at the patterns between you. Together, we'll work on clearer communication and ways to feel more connected and understood.
  • Grief

There is no right way to grieve. Grief can arrive in waves and change shape over time. I'll make room for all of it: the sadness, the anger and the memories. Together, we can look for ways to carry your loss as you move forward.

How I work

I draw on several evidence-based approaches and shape them around you. Here's what each one means in plain language.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy looks at how your thoughts, feelings and actions connect. Together, we notice unhelpful thinking patterns and practise new ways of responding. It often helps with anxiety, depression and stress.
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy teaches practical skills for handling strong emotions and getting through hard moments. 'Dialectical' means holding two things at once: accepting where you are, and working toward change. It often helps when feelings seem overwhelming.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy can help you make room for difficult thoughts and feelings instead of fighting them. We clarify what matters most to you and take small steps in that direction. It often helps with anxiety, stress and feeling stuck.
Person-centred therapy
Person-centred therapy puts you at the centre of the work. I offer warmth, honesty and respect without judgement, trusting that you are the expert on your own life. It often suits people who want to be heard first, at their own pace.
Narrative therapy
Narrative therapy looks at the stories you tell about yourself and your life. Together, we look at the problem as something you're facing, not who you are. We notice strengths you may have overlooked and shape a story that fits you.
Solution-focused therapy
Solution-focused therapy looks ahead rather than back. We focus on what is already working and what you want to be different. Then we plan small, practical steps toward it. It can help when you want clear, focused goals.
